There are 7 days until the Indiana Democratic Primary Election! This is our last opportunity to get the voters of the 7th District energized and excited about selecting Dr. Woody Myers to serve them in Congress on May 6th.
Our greatest need is for volunteers on the phones. We will have volunteers making calls every evening this week from 6:00 pm -9:00 pm.
Then our GOTV (Get Out The Vote) effort kicks off this Saturday and will be running full force until Election Day.

11:00 am – 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 3
1:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 4
3:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday, May 5
9:00 am – 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 6
If you are unable to work a full shift, we can be flexible with your schedule.
We also have a need for individuals interested in working at the polls on May 6th.

After a soaring performance last night in the 7th District Congressional debate which capped off a weekend of events with Jeanne White-Ginder, Dr. Woody Myers rolls into the final week of the campaign on a hot streak. The momentum is definitely building the closer we approach primary election day next Tuesday, May 6th. Check out some of the media from the last couple of days:
Jim Shella's review of his debate performance:
Woody Myers–His was a strong performance. He demonstrated a firm grasp of the issues while displaying confidence and gravitas.
Indianapolis Star's John Ketzenberger:
Job creation is Job One in the 7th Congressional District.
The four major candidates for the Democratic nomination put that issue atop their list of concerns. That's music to local business leaders who spend an inordinate amount of time trying to replace lost jobs.
The public is engaged, too. An Indianapolis Star/WTHR poll showed Hoosiers care far more about job creation than anything else. So, as the primary nears, which Democrat has the best combination of business savvy and a plan to address job woes?
From a pure business perspective, Woody Myers tops the list. The first thing that catches the eye of local businesspeople is his campaign. Even though he's a first-time candidate, the campaign is operating like a well-oiled machine.
Also, Robert King's profile of Dr. Myers ran in today's edition of the Indianapolis Star. Its a great profile of Dr. Myers from his humble beginnings on the east side of Indianapolis to his current bid for Congress.

The Myers 2008 campaign unveiled our new campaign ad featuring the endorsement of Jeanne White-Ginder, the mother of internationally known AIDS activist Ryan White who died of complications from the disease in 1990. Dr. Myers played a pivotal role in bringing international attention to the cause of Ryan White returning to his classroom after being diagnosed with the virus after a blood transfusion for his hemophilia condition in 1984. You can watch the YouTube version of our ad below.
"When my son Ryan wanted to continue going to school, only one man in all of state government was brave enough to stand up for him. Ryan and I are both so grateful," said White-Gender. "With all that's wrong with our country, we need courageous people like Dr. Myers in Congress who will do what's right."
As Health Commissioner from 1985-1990, Dr. Myers championed Ryan's cause when his community turned against him. Diagnosed with HIV in 1984 from infected blood-based products, 13 year-old Ryan was told to leave his public school for the erroneous fear he would spread the virus through casual contact. At a time when HIV-AIDS was widely misunderstood, Dr. Myers boldly took on his role of Indiana's state's medical expert, educated Hoosiers on the nature of the virus and took action to bring a voice to a child who needed it most.
"I'm so honored Jeanne is helping out our campaign," said Myers. "She exemplifies the hope and courage of the people of Indianapolis. She serves as a role model in compassion and tenacity to our city and our nation."
The TV ad is debuting today and will be in rotation with our other ads on local stations. Jeanne White-Gender will be making appearances with Dr. Myers this weekend around Indianapolis. A full schedule of events this weekend will be released in advance.
